PHRF Overnight Update

It’s been about 17 hours since the PHRF’s started and the leaders have gone about 80 miles. The fleet has spread out with Between the Sheets going out while Second Wind, Sauvage and Miramar hang closer to land.  The fleet has crossed into Mexican waters and have light winds as day breaks. Forecasts show continued light winds for the next 6-10 hours until they can get past Ensenada. Between the Sheets may benefit from the outside route as the wind fills from outside to in. By tonight, we’ll see if the longer course paid off.  At 1pm today, the ORR fleets start. Winds are forecast at WSW 7 to 10 knots this afternoon at the starting line.
