The Newport Harbor Yacht Club (NHYC) is a private club located on the picturesque Balboa Peninsula in Orange County, California. NHYC provides its 1000 members with a wide-spectrum of sailing activities that include youth, club, one-design, inshore and offshore racing as well as angling and cruising fleets. As one of the premiere yacht racing destinations on the West Coast, NHYC hosts numerous inshore and offshore regattas throughout the sailing season.
The Newport to Cabo San Lucas Yacht Race provides the Southern California offshore sailor a great opportunity to race down the Baja Coastline to the beautiful destination of Cabo San Lucas. The 800 mile yacht race allows competitors of all levels to sail with your friends or family as well as “tune-up” for the annual summer yacht races such as the Transpac or Pacific Cup. Typically a downwind run to Cabo San Lucas, racers enjoy the sunny afternoons and warm, moonlit evenings as they journey down the coast.
