Both the Jen 60 trimaran, LoeReal and the R/P 74, Wizard have broken the 100 mile finish barrier. Both boats are moving along nicely and the R/C & Hospitality Teams await their arrival. Temperature in Cabo are in the mid 70's tonight as a nice northwest breeze blows down the Baja Peninsula. Photo's and videos of the first boats arrival will be posted as soon as possible.
The Cabo fleet continues to push south. Breezes look to range from 10 to 18 knots down the race track today. The fleet is making great progress towards the finish line just South of Cabo Falso. Both the NHYC Race Committee and Hospitality Teams are standing by to greet the racers.
Due to the light winds encountered during the first half of the race, NHYC Race Officials have decided to extend the finish time of the Cabo Race from 3pm Thursday to 12pm Saturday. This extension will give the racers a greater opportunity to complete the race and join the other racers and festivities in Cabo San Lucas. NHYC Race Officials that are currently in Cabo are working on the logistics for the Awards Celebration. More details to follow~~
The fleet seems to be moving right along this morning and winds appear to be nice. The NHYC Cabo R/C and hospitality teams are beginning to arrive in Mexico and we look forward to their "on-scene" reporting!
Horizon leads the ORR Division and Checkmate the PHRF Division. LoeReal has just sneaked out in front of Wizard as all the boats on course are moving along this morning. See Notices - Daily Standings for details.
