Raced boats around the buoys and<\/p>\n<p>distance races. Experience racing on other boats include Frers 33, Olsen 30, Cal 31, J-35, Tartan 10,<\/p>\n<p>J-24, Express 34, Olsen 34, Beneteau 36.7, Newport 30.<\/p>\n<p>More than 50 nights racing overnight (more than 30 nights cruising via deliveries and other trips).<\/p>\n<p>Captained 9 Chicago &#8211; Mackinac races on own boat.<\/p>\n<p>Experienced racing at all positions. Proficient at helm, foresail trim, mainsail trim, guy trim, pit, and<\/p>\n<p>navigator. Competent at mast. Understand importance of each crew member focusing on their assigned<\/p>\n<p>tasks to achieve successful race outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Courses\/Training:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>US Sailing &#8211; World Sailing Offshore Personal Survivor Training (2 days with in water training)<\/li>\n<li>J\/World Advanced Yacht Racing course<\/li>\n<li>Starpath School of Navigation &#8211; Marine Weather Course (USCG Captain\u2019s license equivalent)<\/li>\n<li>Navigation &amp; Weather in the 21st Century &#8211; Instructed in use of resources, services, and<\/li>\n<li>hardware available for weather forecasting and routing, e.g., Expedition, Predict Wind, Go Free.<\/li>\n<li>Taught by Chris Bedford (Sailing Weather Service) and Anderson Reggio (Team Alvimedica).<\/li>\n<li>US Coast Guard &#8211; Coastal Navigation<\/li>\n<li>Certified diver (P.A.D.I. advanced certification)<\/li>\n<li>CPR (Red Cross)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Splicing &#8211; Accomplished in splicing high modulus rope, including single and double braid and<\/li>\n<li>hybrid varieties.<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical\/Structural &#8211; Regularly perform routine maintenance and repairs to diesel engines,<\/li>\n<li>steering and hydraulic systems, winches, pumps, etc. Also can install and rebed hardware.<\/li>\n<li>Electrical\/Electronics &#8211; Installation and troubleshooting of DC circuits and components.<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in configuration and setup of NMEA 2K networks.<\/li>\n<li>Sail Repair &#8211; Trained in on-the-water repair of minor to moderate damage to sails. Repairs<\/li>\n<li>stabilize damage for professional repair or allow racing to continue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other Information:<\/p>\n<p>Two US Navy Tiger Cruises &#8211; Hawaii to San Diego aboard USS Ogden (LPD-5) and Peleliu (LHA-5)<\/p>\n<p>with Pacific Battle Group. Mustered with Damage Control and Hull Maintenance crew members and<\/p>\n<p>participated in their daily tasks, including ballasting operations and firefighting drills .<\/p>\n<p>Three summers working on 40&#8242; biological research vessel (New York, Connecticut).
